This voluntary standard does not provide legal advice, nor is itintended to address specific export transactions. Users shouldconsult their qualified resource(s) for questions about thisstandard and related export control compliance issues asappropriate.
These standard practices are applicable to organizations thatdesign, develop, manufacture or overhaul or repair defensearticles, dual use and commercial items (commodities, software, andtechnologies) and/or provide defense services and activities forwhich providing access to foreign nationals without U.S. governmentauthorization would be prohibited.
The requirements outlined in this standard are generic and areintended to be applicable to all organizations, regardless of type,size and aerospace product provided. Further, this standard simplyidentifies the recommended processes to fulfill complianceobligations under this topic. Application of these elements shouldbe customized to align with your organization’s current businessprocesses and priorities.
Throughout this standard any reference to an “item” or “product”is applicable to commodities, technology, or software. If the typeof article is mentioned specifically then the standard only appliesto that type of article.
