Purpose of this Characteristic
This document sets forth the desired characteristics of the MarkIII Aviation Satellite Communication (satcom) System avionicsintended for installation in all types of commercial transport andbusiness aircraft. The intent of this document is to providegeneral and specific guidance on the form factor and pinassignments for the installation of the avionics primarily forairline use. It also describes the desired operational capabilityof the equipment to provide data and voice communications, as wellas additional standards necessary to ensure interchangeability.
