In addition, theamplifier includes circuitry for generating and control ofelectronic chime signals and provisions for an auxiliary amplifiermodule which may be used to operate separate loudspeakers installedfor the sole use of the cabin attendants. It will describe thedesired operation capability of the equipment and the standardsnecessary to ensure interchangeability.
Equipment manufacturers should note that this documentencourages them to produce maintenance-free, high performanceequipment rather than that of minimum weight and size. They are atliberty to accomplish this objective by means of the techniquesthey consider to be the most appropriate. Their airline customersare interested primarily in the end result rather than the meansemployed to achieve it.
