Purpose
This regulation establishes policy and procedures to insurethat
a. The ability of materiel used by the Army to survive nuclear,biological, and chemical (NBC) contamination is considered early inthe acquisition cycle.
b. Reasonable mission-related criteria are applied to equipmentselected for such survivability.
c. Criteria for NBC contamination survivability, applied duringthe research and development (R&D) phase, are maintained orrefined throughout production and deployment of the selectedequipment.
