This pamphlet applies to the Active Army, the Army National Guard of theU.S., and the U.S., and the U.S. Army Reserve. It also applies to allpersonnel who participate in the disposition of remains and personal effectsprocess at unit, installation, and casualty area command levels. Duringmobilization, procedures contained in this pamphlet may be modified by theproponent.
The purpose of this pamphlet is to provide practical guidance andprocedures for unit commanders, casualty area commands (CACs), casualtyassistance officers (CAOs), and summary courts-martial (SCMs) charged with thecare and disposition of remains and/or disposition of personal effects (PE).
