This Code covers welding requirements applicable to weldedstructures. It is to be used in conjunction with any complementarycode or specification for the design and construction of steelstructures. It is not intended to apply to pressure vessels orpressure piping. Requirements that are essentially common to allstructures are covered in sections 1 through 7, and 11, whileprovisions applying exclusively to static loading, dynamic loading,or tubular structures are included in sections 8,9, and 10,respectively.
Note: The use of prequalified joints is not intendedas asubstitute for engineering judgement with respect to thesuitability of application of these joints to a weldedassembly.
