This standard describes the requirements for metallizedelectrode film dielectric capacitors, dry or Non-PCB liquid filled,and sealed in metal cases or in non-metal cases made ofself-extinguishing material. They are intended for use in lightingballasts, ferroresonant transformer power supplies, some powerfactor correction, with motors and other general purposeapplications. The capacitors are rated for service in 50 Hz to 60Hz circuits at case temperatures shown in Paragraph 3.4.
