This test method applies to the measurement of x-radiationemitted from non-raster-scanned direct-view cathode ray tubes. Forsome applications the test procedures described in RecommendedStandard EIA-501, “Recommended Practice for the Measurement ofX-Radiation from Raster-Scanned Direct-View Data Display CathodeRay Tubes,” or EIA-503, “Recommended Practice for Measurement ofX-Radiation from Direct-View Television Picture Tubes, It may bemore appropriately used than those described herein.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this Standard is to obtain the x-radiationcharacteristics of non-raster-scanned direct-view data displaycathode ray tubes in order to predict the levels emitted by tubeswhen electrical characteristics of the application are known.
