This procedure establishes two methods to determine themagnitude of normal force, at the point of the electricalconnection, generated by a contact system at a given deflectionwithin its normal operating levels. This data and its relationshipto contact pressure allows the electrical integrity and stabilityof the contact interface to be evaluated in proper perspective whenintegrated with other monitored attributes. The two methods ofobtaining normal force are as indicated in table 1. When notspecified in the referencing document method A shall be used.
