INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE

This standard was formulated to provide dimensions andtolerances necessary to lead tape components in the radial format(unidirectional leads) such that they may be automatically handled.Automatic handling includes insertion, preforming and otheroperations. The emphasis of this standard is on the requirementsfor high-speed automatic insertion. This standard covers the leadtaping requirements for components having two or more radialconfigured leads, provided these components may be taped inaccordance with the requirements of this document.
