Introduction
Ceramic capacitors are those wherein the dielectric material isa high-temperature, sintered, inorganic ceramic compound. As ageneral rule, these materials are based on mixtures of complextitanates or niobate compounds, i.e., barium titanate, titaniumoxide, calcium titanate, strontium titanate, etc. Stannate andzirconate compounds are also used. Because of the great variety ofelectrical characteristics found in ceramic capacitors, theElectronic Component Industry Association (ECIA) has categorizedceramic capacitors into four separate classes.
