This standard establishes minimum requirements for the following:
Application of devices to wire.
User certification of tools used for application noted in 2.1.This standard in no way establishes test methods or performancerequirements for the solderless wiring device, nor does it indicatecertification or acceptance for such devices.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this standard is to establish procedures forcertification by the user of all types of tooling used to crimpsolderless wiring devices.
