GENERAL
The cores covered by this standard are intended for use in theconstruction of transformers and inductors, They are wound tapecores bonded with a varnish or resin material and cut into sectionsto facilitate assembly into pre-wound winding assemblies. Thesurfaces of the cut sections are even and smooth and the parts aremaintained as matched parts such that any air gap as the result ofcore re-assembly will be minimum.
