This publication provides the criteria for television picturebulbs and implosion panels. The individual items specified hereinare, for the most part, those which are of some commercial interestwithin the United States at this time. Other television picturebulbs are being produced, new bulbs undoubtedly will be producedafter this is issued, and the amount of commercial interest indifferent bulbs has been known to fluctuate considerably.Therefore, no deductions should be drawn from the inclusion orexclusion of a particular bulb from this document.

This publication was initially intended as a revision of JEDECPublication 10, Cathode-Ray Tube Bulb Criteria, dated November 19,1956. However, the Committee on Cathode-Ray Tubes, JT-6, concludedthat it would be advantageous to divide the CRT bulb criteria intotwo unique publications – this one and a subsequent publicationrestricted to the criteria of bulbs for industrial and militaryCRT, This publication is therefore a replacement of that part ofPublication 10 dealing with television picture bulbs.
