This Standard covers uni-directional and bi-directionalstrain-gage linear acceleration transducers.
Included among the specific types of strain-gage linearacceleration transducers for which this Standard is applicable, arethe following:
Bonded, unbonded, deposited metallic, or semiconductor straingages.
Terminology used is defined in either ISA-S37.1, ElectricalTransducer Nomenclature and Terminology or in 4.3, AdditionalTerminology, of this Standard. An asterisk appears after thoseterms defined in ISA-S37.1; a double asterisk appears after thoseterms defined in this Standard.
Purpose
This Standard establishes the following for strain-gage linearacceleration transducers:
a) Uniform minimum specifications for design and performancecharacteristics
b) Uniform acceptance and qualification test methods, includingcalibration techniques
c) Uniform presentation of minimum test data
d) A drawing symbol for use in electrical schematics (see Notein Section 3)
