ISA 67.03

This standard covers identification and quantitative measurementof reactor coolant system leakage in light water cooled powerreactors. Leak detection for gas and liquid metal cooled reactorsand for containment building structures surrounding the reactorcoolant pressure boundary is not covered in this standard.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to standardize criteria,methods, and procedures for assuring the design and operationaladequacy of reactor coolant pressure boundary leak detectionsystems used in light water cooled nuclear power plants. A furtherobjective is to encourage design improvements yielding increasedutility and reliability of reactor coolant leakage detectionsystems.
