This standard shall apply to the plastic parts and materials inwhich plastic portion weighs 100g or more, and the rubber parts andmaterials in which rubber portion weighs 200g or more. Theprovisions herein shall apply regardless of the destinations, butwhether to mark parts with identification codes or not may bedetermined for individual projects. This standard does not apply totires.
PURPOSE
This standard is established to make a unified system of markingmaterial identification codes on the parts made of plastics andrubbers in order to facilitate recycling and disposal of theseparts. Marking these parts with material identification codes is alegal obligation as provided in EU directives on end-of lifevehicles (2000/53/EC, 2003/138/EC) and the Law for Promotion ofEffective Utilization of Resources, a domestic law, and markingrules are provided in ISO 11469, ISO 1043 ,ISO 1629 and ISO 18064;thus, this standard is an Isuzu’s in-house rules of how to markidentification codes on the parts in compliance with, and on thebasis of, the EU directives, the domestic law and the ISOstandards. Details of how to mark identification codes are asdescribed in Isuzu Design Manual ITD-005195 (For in-house).
