The test conditions, and methods of measurement of vehicularantennas in the Land- Mobile Services are presented forestablishing conformance to the performance requirements. Thesupplementary terms and definitions and the conditions ofmeasurement set forth in this standard are intended for typicaltests and may be used also for acceptance tests.
This Standard deals only with antennas intended for use in theTerrestrial Land Mobile bands between 25 MHz and 1000 MHz and doesnot deal with antennas intended for use in military combatapplications.
For the purpose of this standard, an antenna is defined as adevice for coupling a transmission line to space for the purpose ofradiating or receiving electromagnetic waves. It includes anymatching, balancing, phasing or other coupling devices up to thepoint of connection of the transmission line. Vehicular antennasare electromagnetic radiators, or combinations thereof in arrays, used for the mobile communication services at the vehicularstation.
