Overview
The following are the requirements of the cdma2000 Test DataService Option Revision A:
• Connects the Service Option at the Multiplex Sublayer.
• Supports both forward and reverse links (asymmetric andsymmetric).
• Does bit-wise comparison of the received frame with thelocally generated/expected frame to detect the undetected biterrors that are not detected by frame quality bits.
• Maintains separate sets of error statistics for the FCH/DCCHand SCH(s) and responds with this information when queried by thebase station.
• Defines a single service option, and sets up different RCs andservice configurations on the two links through servicenegotiation.
• May include simultaneous primary and secondary traffic (forexample, can run Markov service [SO 54] on the Fundamental Channeland TDSO on the Supplemental Channel).
• Can be carried by all RC combinations on the reverse/forwardlinks as defined under cdma2000.
• Requires separate channel IDs to differentiate between theFundamental Channel (FCH), Dedicated Control Channel (DCCH),Supplemental Channel(s) (SCH’s).
• Is able to handle multiframe interleaving over 40 ms and 80 msintervals in the physical layer for SCH.
• Does not preclude a future extension to supportflexible/variable rate.
• Allows two types of ON/OFF traffic models to be selectable(Only for FCH, DCCH and SCH):
– Deterministic frame activity given by TX_ON and TX_OFF
– Random frame activity with average frame activity D andaverage burst length B, in units of Physical Layer frames
• Supports two source types of bits for frame generation (Onlyfor FCH, DCCH and SCH):
– Selectable byte pattern
– Pseudo-random bits
• Supports 5 ms FCH/DCCH frames testing using Layer 3 Signalingmini messages
• Supports testing of all the new physical channels introducedin cdma2000 Revisions C and D
