This document specifies procedures for the Markov Service Option(MSO) and procedures for the Flexible Markov Service Option(FMSO).
The MSO is used to allow verification of the physical layerperformance frame error rate (FER) of the cdma2000 Fundamentalchannels. These technical requirements form a standard for thetwo-way Markov service option. This standard does not address thereliability of Markov service option, nor does it cover equipmentperformance or measurement procedures.
The FMSO is used to allow verification of the physical layerperformance frame error rate (FER) of the cdma2000 Fundamentalchannels. These technical requirements form a standard for thetwo-way Flexible Markov service option. This standard does notaddress the reliability of Flexible Markov service option, nor doesit cover equipment performance or measurement procedures.
The document is organized into the following sections:
• Chapter 1 defines the terms and notations used in thisdocument.
• Chapter 2 provides a general description of the MSO anddescribes the detail procedures and operation of the mobile stationand the base station for the MSO.
• Chapter 3 provides the message format for MSO.
• Chapter 4 provides a general description of the FMSO anddescribes the detail procedures and operation of the mobile stationand the base station for the FMSO.
• Chapter 5 provides the message format for FMSO.
Annex A to Annex C are for the support of Markov ServiceOption.
• Annex A is an informative section that outlines a procedurefor conducting a Markov test. It also shows the use of the transmitand receive counters for estimating the Frame Error Rate (FER) forthe Forward and Reverse Fundamental Channels.
• Annex B is an informative section that provides examples ofsetting up a Markov call in the CDMA system using servicenegotiation.
• Annex C is an informative section that shows examples of datablock generation.
• Annex D to Annex F are for the support of Flexible MarkovService Option.
• Annex D is an informative section that outlines a procedurefor conducting a Markov test. It also shows the use of the transmitand receive counters for estimating the Frame Error Rate (FER) forthe Forward and Reverse Fundamental Channels.
• Annex E is an informative section that provides examples ofsetting up a Markov call in the CDMA system using servicenegotiation.
• Annex F is an informative section that shows examples of datablock generation.
