This paper presents an algorithm used to optimize the stockdistribution between the roughing and finishing cuts for fixedsetting spiral bevel and hypoid members. The optimization is basedon the Surface Match algorithm, where differences between theroughing and finishing spiral angle, pressure angle and tooth taperare minimized in order to obtain rough and finished tooth flanksthat are parallel.
