Applicability
This standard provides nomenclature common to flexible couplingsand their application as used in mechanical power transmissiondrives.
Exceptions
The following coupling types are not included in thisstandard:
– flexible shaft;
– quill shaft;
– universal joint;
– devices which exhibit slip such as clutches, fluid couplings,magnetic couplings and torque converters.
