Purpose of this Document
This document defines the air transport industry standards forthe transfer of digital information between avionics systemelements. Adherence to these standards is desired for allinter-systems communication in which the Line Replaceable Units(LRUs) are defined by the relevant ARINC Characteristics. The useof these standards for intra-system communication is not necessary,although it may be convenient.
