INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this document is to provide an introduction and overview of the ARINC Cabin Systems Standards. The growing complexity and scope of cabin equipment has resulted in the expansion of ARINC Specification 628 to twelve parts (including Part 0 and three sub-parts to Part 4).The parts may continue to grow as new concepts and systems are developed. Part 0 provides the concepts and overview of ARINC Specification 628 and descriptions of each individual part. A block diagram illustrating the relationship between the various parts is included in Attachment 1. ARINC Characteristic 765 augments ARINC 628, Part 9, with the Ethernet Switch Unit as a central data routing and switching device in an Ethernet network. ARINC Specifications 810 and 812A define a new generation of Galley Inserts and its interfaces to other cabin systems for data exchange.
