Purpose of this Equipment
This Characteristic describes an airborne pulse Doppler WeatherRadar system intended for installation in commercial transport typeaircraft. Its primary purposes are weather and forward lookingwindshear detection, ranging and analysis. Its secondary purpose isground mapping to facilitate navigation by display of significantland contours. Its tertiary purposes are detecting weather eventswith turbulence and displaying auxiliary information from externalsources such as ACARS and TCAS.
