This definition is intended to be useable for legacy aircraft aswell as newer, more complex air transport aircraft.
Purpose
This standard defines a common configuration report format thatcan be retrieved from an aircraft for use by ground tools andmaintenance personnel. Reports will be generated in ExtensibleMarkup Language (XML) format and structured as defined by thisdocument. Several optional elements and attributes are defined toallow flexibility for a given report.
This standard provides aircraft manufacturers, regulatoryagencies, and airlines a format standard for aircraft configurationreporting, and facilitates automated comparison of configurationdata reports (e.g., authorized versus “as flying,” etc.).
