This regulation applies to the Active Army, the Army National Guard, theU.S. Army Reserve, and Department of the Army civilians who are involved inany matter that falls under the responsibility and authority of The JudgeAdvocate General, regardless of whether such person is a member of the JudgeAdvocate Legal Service. This publication is applicable during mobilization.
This regulation provides general information about the Judge AdvocateLegal Service (JALS) and the Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAGC); prescribesthe composition, mission, and functions of the JALS; details responsibilitiesand explains policies, objectives, and procedures for the development andmaintenance of Reserve Component (RC) JAGC officers; details responsibilitiesfor the supervision, training, employment, and administration of JudgeAdvocate General Service Organizations (JAGSOs), including Table ofOrganization and Equipment (TOE) changes; updates procedures for acquiring andmaintaining Army law library materials; defines the professional standards andprocedures for processing alleged violations of professional standards;provides guidance for applicants for voluntary active duty with the JAGC; andexplains and describes the administration of The Judge Advocate General’sFunded Legal Education Program (FLEP).
