ARMY AR 34-1

Applicability. Applicability. This regulationapplies to the Active Army, the Army National Guard/Army NationalGuard of the United States, and the U.S. Army Reserve.

Purpose

This regulation defines the concept of multinational forceinteroperability (MFI) and establishes Department of the Army (DA)policy for achieving MFI through international militarystandardization and other Army security cooperation (SC) programsand activities. This regulation replaces the term “compatibility”used in the 2004 edition of AR 34–1 with the term”interoperability.”
