Applicability.

This regulation applies to the Active Army, the Army NationalGuard/Army National Guard of the United States, and the U.S. ArmyReserve, unless otherwise stated. During mobilization, proceduresin this publication can be modified to support policy changes asnecessary.

Purpose

This regulation prescribes standards and criteria for thephysical security of sensitive conventional arms, ammunition, andexplosives (AA&E), including nonnuclear missiles and rockets,as set forth in appendix B, in the custody of any Department of theArmy (DA) component. This regulation also prescribes policy,procedures, and standards, and assigns responsibilities for theeffective implementation and application of physical security ofAA&E. Consistent with operational and safety requirements andthis regulation, physical security requirements for production andmanufacturing operations at Government facilities will be inaccordance with appendix H.
