Applicability.
This pamphlet applies to all Active Army, Army National Guard ofthe United States (ARNGUS), and U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) unitsperforming a food service mission in the absence of an automatedinformation management system. During mobilization, the proponentmay modify chapters and procedures contained in this pamphlet. Theprocedures in this pamphlet are not applicable to cadet mess diningfacilities at United States Military Academies. Academies aregoverned by DOD 7000.14–R, volume 12, chapter 20.
Purpose
This pamphlet provides information and manual procedures for theoperation and management of the Army Food Program. This includessubsistence supply and food service programs in both garrison andfield operations. Army Regulation (AR) 30–22 contains policy forthe Army Food Program. Administrative procedures in this pamphletare for manual operations. Forms prescribed by this pamphlet arestandardized and are to be prepared as specified. Submit requeststo use other than these standard forms to Army Center ofExcellence, Subsistence (ACES).
The manual procedures in this pamphlet are the basis fordefining automated procedures and developmental actions. Primaryfood service functions have been automated as part of the Army FoodManagement Information System (AFMIS) or the United States ArmyReserve (USAR) automated food management system. USAR unitsoperating under the USAR automated food management system willfollow the procedures contained in the applicable users’ manual.Installations using AFMIS use instructions contained in thefollowing automated data systems manuals (ADSM) to perform thosefunctions that are automated:
(1) Army Information Standards Management (AISM) 18–L37AJKATTEM1 (TROOP ISSUE SUBSISTENCE ACTIVITY (TISA))
(2) AISM 18–L37AJK ATTEM2 (WAREHOUSE)
(3) AISM 18–L37AJK ATTEM3 (INSTALLATION FOOD ADVISOR)
(4) AISM 18–L37AJK ATTEM4 (DINING FACILITY OPERATIONS)
This pamphlet is intended for use by those Army National Guard(ARNG) and USAR food activities and operations lacking automation.It is also intended for use in the event of extended automation orpower failures. Procedures that are not part of the automatedsystems (namely field feeding) are provided.
