AS 1239 – Steel – Schedule of tool steel compositions

Classifies the tool steels normally available to industry in Australia from more than one source of manufacture, into eleven types based largely on the application of the steels. Steels in each type are identified by a prefix letter and number as in the AISI system to indicate typical composition. Departures from the AISI system are defined.
