AS 1986 – Shipbuilding – Guardrails for cargo ships

Specifies dimensions, materials, and quality of manufacture for guardrails and stanchions fitted to decks of cargo ships to prevent personnel falling overboard or to lower decks. It does not apply to guardrails near magnetic compasses. It is identical with ISO 5480.
