The purpose of this standard is to specify the in-band forward error correcting code that 5 be optionally used on a SONET interface. Specifically, this standard defines the SONET overhead byte locations that are used for the error correcting code and the specifications of the code itself. Formerly known as T1.105.08-2001(R2005).
