This specification presents minimum fabrication and qualityrequirements for torch brazing materialsuch as steels, stainless steels, copper, copper alloys, and heat orcorrosion-resistant materialsand other materials that can be adequately torch brazed. For thebrazing of aluminum alloys referto AWS C3.7, Specification for Aluminum Brazing. The purpose of thisspecification is tostandardize torch brazing process requirements and control braze jointquality for all applicationswhere braze joints of assured quality are required. This documentstates minimum requirements forprocesses and products with a minimum of explanatory information sothat sources of ambiguity arereduced. It assigns responsibility for the ultimate quality of thebrazed product to a singleorganization and permits that organization to modify requirements ifappropriate to theapplication. It requires proper documentation of any suchmodifications. Units are rationalizedconversions from U.S. Customary Units to SI Units and my be usedinterchangeably.
