This specification presents minimum fabrication and qualityrequirements for furnace brazingmaterial such as steels, stainless steels, nickel, nickel alloys,copper, copper alloys, and heator corrosion-resistant materials and other materials that can beadequately furnace brazed. For thebrazing of aluminum alloys refer to AWS C3.7, Specification forAluminum Brazing. The purpose ofthis specification is to standardize furnace brazing processrequirements and control braze jointquality for all applications where braze joints of assured quality arerequired. This documentstates minimum requirements for processes and products with a minimumof explanatory information sothat sources of ambiguity are reduced. It assigns responsibility forthe ultimate quality of thebrazed product to a single organization and permits that organizationto modify requirements ifappropriate to the application. It requires proper documentation ofany such modifications. Unitsare rationalized conversions from U.S. Customary Units to SI Units andmy be used interchangeably.
