This code contains the requirements for fabricating and erectingwelded aluminum structures. Whenthis code is stipulated in the contract documents, conformance withall provisions of the codeshall be required, except those provisions that the Engineer orcontract documents specificallymodifies or specifically exempts.
Limitations. This code is not intended for specialized fabricationsuch as pressure vessels orpressure piping.
Alternate Requirements. Alternate requirements from those in this codeshall be submitted to theEngineer for approval. These requirements shall be based onexperience, experimental evidence, orengineering analyses, and shall consider materials, loads, andenvironment.
