This standard applies to two types of diesel fuel, Type A and Type B, suitable for use in high-speed diesel enginepowered equipment for on-road and off-road applications and in select equipment powered by medium speed dieselengines.
Type A is intended for use in selected applications such as urban buses and underground mining or when ambienttemperatures require better low-temperature properties than Type B.
Fuel meeting this standard may be used for underground mining applications that were formerly covered byCAN/CGSB-3.16 (See footnote a and Annex B for notes related to the flashpoint).
