Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) is an international nonprofit,technical organization which began in 1950. CTIprovides the ability for exchange of technical informationpertaining specifically to cooling tower technology, andusers of treated wood found in cooling towers. CTI,through technical committees and individuals with variousareas of interest and expertise on wood preservative treating,meet on a regular basis to develop and maintain thisstandard for preservatives and treated wood products foundin cooling towers. This standard is intended to be used forcooling tower lumber only and it is intended to ensure thatwood products are treated with suitable preservatives for usein cooling towers.
