Scope and Purpose
This specification covers interconnect systems typically usedfor memory card type devices, specified in PCMCIA PC Card Standard- JEIDA Specific Extensions or JEIDA IC Memory Card Guidelines. Thecontacts are on 1.00 mm x 1.27 mm (0.039 in x 0.050 in) contactspacing. The host connector (header) is defined as a housing withpin style contacts that are soldered to a printed circuit board.The receptacle, card side connector, is defined as a housing withbox style contacts that are soldered to a printed circuit board.Connector polarization is achieved by rectangular shapedprotrusions andlor voids in the housing. The specification is givenaccording to the following:
1) Size: 88 circuit
2) Plastic housing only
3) Guide/lead inkey length
4) With or without ejector mechanism
5) Type of solder tail
8) Plating
The application of this range of connectors includes use forsignals in computer memory card applications and other electronicdevices employing similar techniques.
