This Detail Specification defines Type 1 Nonplenum cable usedwith the Token Ring LAN Cabling System. Type 1 NP consists of 2twisted pairs of Data Grade Media (DGM) shielded with aluminum tapeand braided shields, all cabled into a single PVC jacketedassembly. The Cabling System is intended to be compatible with IEEEStandard 802.5. It is designed to be used as a total buildingwiring system. The Cabling System may be used as the communicationsmedium for a Token Ring Network as well as for other dataequipment.
