This Detail Specification defines Type 1 Plenum cable used withthe Token Ring LAN Cabling System. Type 1 P consists of 2 twistedpairs of Data Grade Media (DGM) shielded with aluminum tape andbraided shields, all cabled into a single fluorocarbon jacketedassembly. The Cabling System is intended to be compatible with IEEEStandard 802.5. It is designed to be used as a total buildingwiring system. The Cabling System may be used as the communicationsmedium for a Token Ring Network as well as for other dataequipment.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the Detail Specification is to provide adocument describing Type 1 P cable as a basis for certificationunder the NECQ system and for acquisition of conforming cable.
