This document defines the recommended requirements formulti-contact electric connectors for the purpose of adaptingelectric conductors to printed-wiring boards, and for the purposeof interconnecting one printed-wiring board to another. It isintended that only those requirements that apply to a particularapplication need be tested.
Any deviations from this document shall be considered asnegotiable.
Purpose: The intent of this document is to provide guidelines bywhich the user may develop a connector specification. It is alsothe intent of this document to provide information to be used inthe selection of printed circuit connectors.
Types: The type describes the general configuration and intendeduse.
Type I One-piece connector
Type II Two-piece connector
Classes: See Table I
Size: The size of the connector defines the thickness of theapplicable pluggable printed wiring board.
Contact Spacing: The contact spacing centerline to centerlinedefines the spacing between adjacent contacts. Spacings indicatedare recommended standards.
