HPS ANSI/HPS N13.52

This standard is designed to provide guidance for routinepersonal neutron dosimetry. It is applicable for neutrons withenergies ranging from thermal to values less than 20 MeV. Thisstandard applies to devices worn by individuals, as contrasted withhandheld or fixed-area instrumentation. It does not apply todosimetry necessary for extremity monitoring or for criticalityaccidents. This standard also includes factors governing the use ofdosimeters for proper determination of the personal neutron doseequivalent.

Purpose

This standard defines the requirements for selection of apersonal neutron dosimetry system, specifies the requirements forusing the dosimeter in the neutron environment, and specifiesrequirements for the calibration of the dosimeters.
