This document provides a useful framework for cataloguing methodology. It appears thatexisting feature catalogues are fully compatible with the framework, even if certain of theconcepts provided in the General Feature Model occur in existing standards only withinunstructured natural language definitions. Differences may be found in the identificationof feature and attribute domains, the variety of approaches to classification, inclusion ofselection criteria, and in the extent to which the geometric representation of features, through spatial primitives, is considered an integral part of a feature catalogue.
