This test standard utilizes the mathematical equations outlinedin ANSI/ISA-75.01.01 (IEC 60534-2-1 Mod)-2007, Flow Equations forSizing Control Valves, in providing a test procedure for obtainingthe following:
a) Valve flow coefficient, C (Cv, Kv)
b) Liquid pressure recovery factors, FL andFLP
c) Reynolds Number factor, FR
d) Liquid critical pressure ratio factor, FF
e) Piping geometry factor, FP
f) Pressure drop ratio factor, xT andxTP
g) Valve style modifier, Fd
This standard is intended for industrial process control valvesused in flow control of Newtonian fluids. See 4.2 for moreinformation regarding specific valve styles.
Purpose
The purpose of this standard is to support ANSI/ISA-75.01.01(IEC 60534-2-1 Mod)-2007, Flow Equations for Sizing Control Valves,and ANSI/ISA-75.11.01-1985 (R2002), Inherent Flow Characteristicand Rangeability of Control Valves, by providing procedures fortesting control valve capacity and related flow coefficients forboth compressible and incompressible Newtonian fluids. Thisstandard also provides a procedure to evaluate the major data tocalculate the coefficients.
