This Standard applies to class Ia, graded-index, 50/125 μmmultimode optical fiber used as a component in the manufactureof fiber-optic cable.
Applications include, but are not restricted to, the following:support for short reach, high bit-rate systems in telephony,distribution and local networks, carrying data, voice and/or videoservices and on-premises intrabuilding and interbuildingfiber installations, including LANs, SANs, Data Centers,PBXs, video, various multiplexing uses, outside telephone cableplant use, and miscellaneous related uses.
