General Overview
The Default Signaling Application encompasses the SignalingNetwork Protocol (SNP) and 5 the Signaling Link Protocol (SLP).Protocols in each layer use SNP to exchange messages. SNP isalso used by application specific control messages.
SNP provides a one or two octet header that defines the Type ofthe protocol and the protocol instance (i.e., InConfigurationor InUse) with which the message is associated. The SNP usesthe header to route the message to the appropriate protocolinstance.
SLP provides message fragmentation, reliable and best-effortmessage delivery and duplicate detection for messages that aredelivered reliably.
